NINA statistics: 153 gunmen captured on last January

Baghdad (NINA) –As a result of conducting 37 joint operations during last January 153 gunmen most of them belong to Qaeda Organization.

A according to the statistics prepared by the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) “Depending on the US Army statements the Iraqi Security Forces in cooperation with the US advisers captured 117 Qaeda gunmen, 27 of the elements of Promised Day Brigade, five Jaysh Rijal al-Tariqah al Naqshabandiyah elements and one member from Hezbollah as well as two of Special Groups supported by Iran in addition to one from unidentified group.”

“Among the detained gunmen three women from Qaeda were arrested in Baghdad; seven Qaeda gunmen were killed during the operations all of them in Nineveh province,” according to the US statements.

The statistics show that “The gunmen arrested in five provinces as follows: Baghdad 59 gunmen, Nineveh 45, Salah-il-Din 19, Diyala 18 and Anbar 12.”

The average of the detainees in January was less than 2009, December which witnessed arresting 207 gunmen from six provinces, Anbar province was not included./End/
