Sulaymaniya (NINA) – Investigation court in the case of burning Nalia TV channel sentenced the defendants in the case as innocent.
Nalia channel, which broadcasts from Sulaymaniya, announced that the investigative committee formed to investigate the events of February 17, 2011, headed by the first judge of the Court of Sulaymaniya sentenced the defendants as innocent in the case and who were prisoners in custody for months and closed their case.
The lawyer, Ribaz Mahmoud, lawyer of the channel announced that although the court attributed the reasons for closing the case to the absence of evidences against the defendants, but, it was too early to close the case, due to the existence of 5 people wanted in the case and accused of burning the channel that are arrested yet.
A number of armed men on the morning of February 20, last year, burned the building of Nalia satellite channel in Sulaymaniya, one day after the start of broadcasting in Sulaymaniya without knowing the reasons. /End/
