Baghdad (NINA) – Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Salman Al Jumaily, discussed with the special representative of the UN Secretary General in Iraq, Martin Kobler, the political issues in the Iraqi arena and the UN role in assisting Iraq complete building the democratic institutions.
Jumaily appriciated during the meeting that was held at the committee’s HQ today “the UN role in assisting Iraq and providing all expertise to form the Human Right Commission which is one of the most important achievements of the new Iraq.”
For his part, Kobler stressed “the UN keenness on siding with Iraq until it passes the transitional stage peacefully and reach full stability that crowns its serious work.”
Both sides also discussed the coming elections and means to overcome the hurdles in Kirkuk to reach satisfactory results. /End/
