Baghdad (NINA) - Ministry of Health announced the continuation of its decision to ban the import of meat from France for the emergence of 3 cases of BSE last year.
Spokesman of the ministry, Ziad Tariq, said in a press statement today that "the decision to extend the ban comes as precautionary and preventive measures to ensure the safety of citizens' health, despite the appearance of three cases in 2011 due to the lack of data on follow-up and conduct of required tests that guarantee France void of BSE."
He added "the ministry deals accurately and prevents the import of meat from countries and international companies in case of the use of bone in the combination of cattle feed." /End/
