Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani discussed on Thursday, May 10, with US Ambassador to Iraq, James Jeffrey, and the delegation accompanying him, the relations between Iraq and the United States.
A statement issued by the President's Office said that Talabani received Jeffrey discussing with him the country's political situation and mean to find a comprehensive solution to all outstanding issues, based on the Constitution and agreements reached between sides participating in the political process, without excluding any political side.
In the meeting, the two stressed the necessity to continue efforts to consolidate Iraq's democratic experiment and exert required efforts toward reaching a solution acceptable to all sides.
In the meeting, Ambassador Jeffrey affirmed his country's continued support and offer needed help to all Iraqi sides to enable them reach a comprehensive solution. / End.
