Tribal sheikh, his son killed east of Tikrit

Tikrit (NINA) – A tribal sheikh and his son killed on Monday evening, May 14, in an armed attack in Himreen district, east of Tikrit.

Police source told NINA that 22-armed men in military uniform burst into the house of Sheikh Mohammed al-Azzawi, the Sheikh of Azzeh Tribe, in Himreen district, forcing him and his son, Adnan Mohammed al-Azzawi, who is member of the local municipal council, out of the house and opened fire at them, killing them instantly.

The source added that security forces imposed a cordon around the area and began search campaign looking for the gunmen. / End.
